Since the area of the hotel is on no parking zone I contacted the hotel on ******* regarding nearby parkings but they never replied. The hotel’s email address was down so I got no help with parking. The room was very dusty and full of mosquitoes. The bathroom has a glass door which was uncomfortable. The restaurant’s menu was very limited with mostly burger and club sandwiches. Unfortunately the pizza wasn’t good either. The buffet breakfast was good and the restaurant staff was very friendly and kind. The property has many stairs so keep that in mind if you have any kind of knee injuries.

Hotel lindo mas pouco prático (como toda a cidade)
Ficamos apenas um dia/noite. Hotel é lindíssimo, o atendimento é excepcional. Só duas coisas importantes, não tem ar condicionado nos quartos (então se pegar dia quente passa calor - foi o meu caso) e a cidade só tem escada, pra ir pro quarto são muitas escadas, então vá com pouca bagagem.

Staying in the Sassi
This is a property in the Sasso Caveoso in Matera, the most incredible and one of the most ancient places on earth. The views of the Sassi and the caves are incredible and the room carved in the rock was spacious and comfortable. I would have added a TV close to the bed and a second sink in the bathroom but altogether the place is great. Very good service ans evryone is superfriendly and helpful. Also great the breakfastr buffet

Uno degli alberghi più incredibili che abbia mai visto, e per cui ci tengo a lasciare la mia prima recensione da 5 stelle! Non è per tutti, e meno male. Speriamo di tornarci presto! Un caro saluto a tutto lo staff, così caloroso dall’inizio al termine del nostro soggiorno.

Hotel bem cuidado, não adequado pra pessoas com dificuldade de locomoção pois tem muita escadaria. Serviço atencioso, café da manhã bom . Ele fica na parte baixa do centro histórico , então tudo que vai visitar tem que subir muita escada.pois a cidade fica numa montanha.

Abbiamo avuto il piacere di soggiornare per la prima volta in un albergo diffuso nel cuore dei Sassi di Matera e l’esperienza è stata indimenticabile. La nostra camera, ricavata da un’antica grotta, offriva una vista spettacolare su Piazza San Pietro e il super suggestivo paesaggio della Murgia materana. Il personale, cordiale e disponibile, ci ha fatti sentire come a casa. Merita una menzione anche il ristorante: gustare prodotti tradizionali in una cornice così suggestiva è stata un’esperienza che non dimenticheremo facilmente. Non vediamo l’ora di tornarci!

While the location is excellent, I felt as if the Sant'Angelo charged 5-star prices for a 4-star experience. A lot of things felt tired or worn out -- starting with the "Welcome" card in the room that clearly had not been switched out for some time (it was dinged and bent and dingy). The floor in the shower was chipped and cracked, the furniture in the breakfast room needed a fresh coat of paint, etc., etc. Overall I felt that for approximately the same price we got much better accommodations and service in both Lecce and Ostuni. I would not recommend the Sant'Angelo to others.
